Set up the Exhibition on Monday 18th November 2019. The Exhibition will open on Monday 18th November at 15.00 hrs in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre and close on Sunday 24th November 2019 at 16.00 hrs.
5 entries per member, £1 hanging fee per original work (prints cannot be accepted for hanging). 20% commission for the sale of paintings, 10% for the sale of browser items and craftwork.
Unframed original work and unframed prints are acceptable for the browser rack — 5 per exhibiting member.
Use standard Exhibition entry forms (separate form required for unframed work or prints).
Entry forms, hanging fees and details of craftwork should be handed in by 15.00 hrs, Wednesday 13th November 2019 to a Committee member please.
Paintings, craftwork and browser items may be submitted to the Kingsgate Centre at the point where the Exhibition is held on Monday 18th November, between 13.30 hrs and 14.30 hrs.
Members exhibiting must commit to at least two periods of duty during the exhibition.
If entering a n.f.s. painting this must be accompanied by a for sale painting. It is not permissible to have a not for sale painting with copies in the browser.
Members should be aware of copyright law and any work copied from other artists, paintings or photographs including those taken from books etc., should acknowledge the original artist or photographer.
FRAMING STANDARDS ARE THE SAME AS FOR ALL EXHIBITIONS
Paintings will not be hung unless they are properly framed and have ‘d’ rings no more than one third down from the top of the painting and are tightly corded. Screws and rings must be covered by a small amount of padding (foam or bubble wrap) secured with tape to prevent damage to other works.
The backs of framed paintings must be sealed with brown framing tape (not masking tape or parcel tape).
Unframed stretched canvas paintings are acceptable if finished neatly at the edges.
Labels for your work are available in the Studio. Please make sure your labels are clearly written in block capitals in black ink and that the details match those given on the entry form. Please tie the label to the hanging cord with a length of string long enough to drape over the top of your painting so it can be seen from the front (for initial hanging purposes ) . An example is on permanent display at the club.
Unsold work must be collected on the final day of the exhibition (Sunday 24th November between 1600 and 1700 hrs) unless prior arrangements have been made.
Please give your name to Helen Rowbotham if you are (i) unable to enter your paintings on the monday yourself or (ii) unable to collect them from the exhibition. Pictures can be delivered to the gallery and/or collected from it prior to or after the exhibition times by prior arrangement with Helen Rowbotham.
The hanging committee will refuse any pieces of work not meeting these simple requirements. Exhibits will not be insured and are hung at the owner’s risk. Members may wish to insure their own work.
This year, members submitting cards for sale must complete a card entry form with the name of the member, number of cards submitted and initials used on cards by the member.
Card entries will now appear in the exhibition catalogue.
Dunfermline Art Club Gallery in Unit 22 Kingsgate Shopping Centre, will soon be accepting members submissions for the next Gallery hanging period which will run from 24th October through 21st December. New exhibits will be accepted during normal Gallery opening hours (12-4 pm on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th October). Paintings will be hung on Tuesday 22nd in advance of the Gallery re-opening on 24th. A maximum five pictures may be submitted. The hanging fee remains at £2 per picture, and, where four pictures are paid for, the fifth will be hung for free.
Original artworks only (which comply with the clubs framing standards) can be accepted for hanging, not prints. However, prints, as well as original unframed pictures, may be submitted for display in the browsers.
Members also should note that the same paintings may not be exhibited in the Gallery on consecutive hanging periods. Unsold items from the previous hanging period should be collected from the Gallery at the earliest convenient opportunity.
The Fife Shell Art Exhibition, (sponsored by Shell UK), will run in Lochgelly Centre from Saturday 5th October until Saturday 23rd November 2019. The Exhibition will feature several artists from Dunfermline Art Club. A preview evening for participating artists and guests will be held on Friday 4th October 2019.
This is a reminder for members wishing to attend the club Christmas Dinner on 3rd December that in order to secure the booking, a deposit of £10 per person should be paid by Wednesday 25th September (either by cheque made out to Pitbauchlie House Hotel or cash please).

The Club Christmas Dinner will be held again this year in the Pitbauchlie House Hotel, Dunfermline on Tuesday 3rd December, (6.30pm for 7.00pm). Club members, together with spouse / partner, are welcome at a cost of £26.00 per person. Will all members wishing to attend, please add names to the list posted on the club Notice Board or alternatively give confirmation to either Nancy Aitken (Social Secretary) or the Club Secretary, Mike Sutherland-Brown. In order to secure the booking, a deposit of £10 per person should be paid by Wednesday 25th September (either cheque, made out to Pitbauchlie House Hotel or cash please), with the final balance payable by 20th November at the latest.
