The Online Gallery article in the December 2014 issue of Leisure Painter magazine features paintings which have a travel related theme. Prominent among these is one of Club Secretary Ken Young’s recent watercolour paintings titled Tram Stop which depicts a group of people waiting to board a tram at a stop on Princes Street, Edinburgh. Well done Ken. The painting is rendered in his recognisable realist style and the article focuses on the superb depiction of the reflections in the tram windows. You can see more of Ken’s work in our Portfolio Page and on his own website at kenyoungart.co.uk
The club has acquired some metal mesh screens as possible replacements for the pegboard style exhibition stands used in our Annual and Winter Exhibitions. This type of screen is typically used in retail shop display but can be adapted to accommodate paintings. Some of the screens have been erected in the club Gallery at Unit 22 on a trial basis. Please call in to the Gallery and have a look. The committee will be pleased to have your feedback / comments. It is intended that trialling of the stands will be extended to the Winter Exhibition in November.
