Regrettably, due to personal circumstances, Jim McLure will not be able to continue hosting the Monday Pastel Group. It was hoped that the group would resume after the summer break with Jim again at the helm, but unfortunately that will not be possible at this time. The club wishes to record it’s gratitude to Jim for the sterling work he has done over the years in creating and building the group into what is undoubtedly a great club asset. We wish Jim well and hope we might see him back in his familiar role in the future.
At the conclusion of the AGM onTuesday 18th August, members will be invited to vote for a selection of paintings to feature in the proposed Club Calendar for 2016, the theme for which is “Fife”. Photographs of all 33 entries will be on display in the club for members to view and each member will receive a voting slip on which they will select the 13 pictures which they think should be included in the calendar (one for each month plus one cover picture). Although there are 17 different artists (resulting in some having more than one entry) only their entry having the most votes will be considered for the calendar. i.e. No artist will feature on more than one calendar month. The 13 pictures gaining the most votes will feature prominently in the calendar and all the other entries will be included as thumbnails.
Further to her successful demonstration at the club on 10th February, Nichola Martin will be returning on Tuesday 20th October for a Still Life Charcoal Workshop. The workshop will run from 10am until 4pm. for which there will be £5 (non-refundable) fee, payable to Jen Manson by Wednesday 14th October.
Numbers are strictly limited to twelve, so, members who wish to attend should append their name and telephone number to the list which is posted in the club. Nichola will provide charcoals etc but members are requested to bring their own cartridge paper on the day.
