Two artists from Dunfermline Art Club, Ann Marie Irvine and Robbie Peterson have collaborated with local author Caroline Copeland in producing the illustrations for her newly published book “Peacocks in the Glen Again”. The Dunfermline Art Club Calendar for 2016 in now in production in-house. The thirteen paintings with the theme “Fife” were chosen by a vote of members on the evening of the club AGM last month. We will be featuring each of these paintings on the website over the coming weeks. The calendar is on sale now at the club premises priced £6
Members are invited to put forward thoughts and suggestions for improvements at the club whether they be about the premises, facilities, activities (both within and outside the club) or related to the Gallery at Unit 22 in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre. A suggestion box will be placed in the club premises at Townhill for this purpose (suggestions can be anonymous if you wish).
The Club Christmas Dinner will be held this year in the Pitbauchlie House Hotel, Dunfermline on Tuesday 1st December, (6.30pm for 7.00pm). Club members, together with spouse / partner, are welcome at a cost of £22.95 per person. Will all members wishing to attend, please give confirmation to Nancy Dewar, either in person or on 01383 738038. Also, in order to secure the booking, a deposit of £10 per person should be paid to Nancy by Wednesday 16th September (either cheque or cash please) with the final balance payable by 18th November. Additionally, anyone with special dietary needs can be catered for. Please make these known when making your reservation.
Further to the post on 24th June, the Wednesday Watercolour Group have arranged that Colin Joyce will be returning to the group on an occasional basis (roughly every month) to provide tuition at a more advanced level. Colin has agreed the following dates initially:
