George receives his award from Cllr Lesley Laird

The annual art extravaganza known as the Fife Shell Awards is now in its 31st year and is being staged this year at The Lochgelly Centre from 10th October until 26th November. The event showcases the work of Fife artists from all parts of the county and is promoted by Fife Council and Fife Cultural Trust and sponsored by Shell U.K. Ltd. Announced at the preview last Friday, a winner of one of the six coveted awards was our own Club President, George Aitken with his Pen and Ink entry titled A Corner of Falkland, Fife. Each winner receives a cash prize from the sponsors and the works are also purchased by Shell to go on show at NHS establishments throughout Fife Region. Many congratulations to George on his success. We are also very pleased to announce that Robbie Peterson’s pencil and Ink work, titled High Street, Edinburgh was selected in the Commended Category. Our congratulations also to Robbie. You can view more of George and Robbie’s work on our website Portfolio Page.
