If you’re interested in becoming a member of Dunfermline Art Club, we’ll be glad to answer any questions you might have. You can visit the gallery in the Kingsgate shopping centre and have a chat with members, (open on Fridays and Saturdays), send us a message via the “Contact Us” page on the website, or just pop along to the Townhill Studio on any of the days and times we are open (see below).
Townhill Studio
Visit us at Townhill Community Centre at one of the times when we’re open and available for introductions: Tuesdays 6.45 – 9.00 pm, Wednesdays 10.00 am – 1.00 pm. and Thursdays 10am -12.00pm. When you come into the building, speak to one of the staff at the reception desk who will show you down to our basement studio. We’ll then give you a warm welcome, introduce you to a few of our members, show you around and explain what we do. You’ll then be free to make up your mind whether you would like to join, in your own time. You can also come along for a week or two before making any commitment.
The club calendar year runs from 1st September until 31st august and the fee for joining is a very reasonable £50.00 a year. For joiners in the second half of the year (from 1st March) the fee reduces to £25 with the proviso that paintings may not be hung at any club event during that period.
Sketching Group
We also have an active sketching group who meet on Mondays for a couple of hours outdoor sketching in various locations throughout Fife and south of the river (weather permitting).
Demonstrations and Workshops
The club does not provide tuition or “art classes” however, demonstrations and workshops by guest and visiting artists are a regular feature in the club’s social calendar. Don’t put off if you’re a complete beginner as most of our members started out that way ! And you’ll get plenty of help and advice from fellow members.
Please note however, we can only accept adults aged 18 or over as members.
