Colin proposes to change the format slightly for the coming season by painting a subject each week as a demo, where all follow along dong their own version.
All members are welcome. We look forward to seeing you each Wednesday evening from 7 until 9.
Club member and watercolour group tutor Colin Joyce will resume group tuition in September (dates to be announced) following a summer break. For information, Colin will host a couple of week long watercolour painting breaks in the Scottish Highlands (Wester Ross) next spring. Full details of these are available to view on his website via the highlighted link.
Falkirk artist Marjory Sime will be making a welcome return to the club on Tuesday 30th August for a one day workshop (10.30-15.30) on the subject “Freely Florals” covering loose floral composition, execution and backgrounds in oil. Full details of this are on the Notice Board in the club where you should append your name and telephone number if you are interested in attending. The fee for this workshop is £15, payable to the event co-ordinator Jen Manson, by 24th August.
Members of the clubs Wednesday Watercolour Group will be pleased to note the dates for the next two visits from tutor Colin Joyce. These are:
Wednesday 16th March & Wednesday 13th April
Further to the post on 24th June, the Wednesday Watercolour Group have arranged that Colin Joyce will be returning to the group on an occasional basis (roughly every month) to provide tuition at a more advanced level. Colin has agreed the following dates initially:
A nominal fee will be levied by the group. All club members are very welcome to attend.
All those who regularly attend the Wednesday Watercolour Group will be aware that Colin Joyce will be standing down from his teaching/coaching role with the group after 24th June due to other commitments. Colin leaves this role with our very best wishes and thanks for the time and effort he has given to this endeavour. The group has grown in numbers and popularity largely due to Colin’s input and encouragement. At this stage, there is consensus that the group continue to pursue their interest on Wednesday evenings, albeit tutorless at this time.
This is a reminder to members of Jim McLure’s Monday Pastel Group, that there will be no session this coming Monday (4th May) due to the Bank Holiday and closure of Townhill Community Centre. It will be business as usual on Monday 11th.
